Camera Equipment
It's pretty simple.
I don't use film for many reasons.
I use a digital single-lens reflex camera.
The camera I use is a Canon 5D Classic, a digital pro-body SLR camera from 2005. Ancient, in-terms of technology. I think it only has twelve mega-pixels, but I don't think that matters much. I bought it directly from Japan with only 4.000 shutter-actuations. I pair this with a 50mm 1.8, known in the photographic world as a "nifty-fifty." I also have a flash on a cable, and a pancake 40mm lens that I sometimes use.
I enjoy the gear that I have, and I learn it pretty thoroughly. I think that's the key. I am careful not to consume and amass and horde electronics in-particular. It is a temptation for me.
Nothing extra. No tripod, no studio lights, no c-stands. I have exactly what I need for my photographic style, and to capture your candid portrait.
