Recording At Panama

Recording At Panama
Bill MacBeath and me.

Here at Panama Studios we have cultivated an environment that inspires creativity. You don't need to be a virtuoso of your instrument or an operatic singer to come and record. Vibe is king at Panama Studios.

Pascale and Elizabeth.

If you are a singer-songwriter, or simply covering your favorite songs. Come on down. We'll start you with one mic and a couple warm-up takes. Sometimes that is the best work of the day. We aren't precious about multi-tracks at Panama Studios.

Ethan Kirk.

But sometimes you just want to sing, unfettered by your instrument. In that case we'll have you lay down an instrumental and you can sing over it. We can overdub harmonies or go high or low. Maybe add in some harmonica.

You are free to bring your singer friends into the mix. Vocal talent.

At Panama Studios we are your biggest fans. We're not there to burn your groove or step on your creative process. However you work, we will work with you. We know you've been around the block once or twice. Maybe you've recorded at some fancy studios and have your own ideas about how it gets done. It's all copacetic at Panama.

Sometimes we break for a costume change and a few glamour shots. That is Quinn the cat. That's fine. We can help you with social media presence and websites. Even graphic design and logos. It's all in our wheelhouse.

The setup is humble. But the sound is BIG.

Maybe try a few microphones, mic it in stereo. We will capture every nuance of your performance.

We host a music jam the last Sunday of the month from 3-6PM. Then the party moves to the backyard for the potluck and fire-pit. All are welcome.

At Panama Studios we like to try new setups with equipment we already have. Pictured in the middle is a Faulkner Phased Array with small-diaphragm outriggers.

Most of all we like to make making music a fun experience. Everyone experiences burnout from time-to-time and sometimes you're not on your A-game. That's okay. There are multiple takes, and multiple days in the year that we make our humble living room studio available.

If you paid the Tracking Day Rate, this is included. I'm putting myself out of business. However you want to spend your time is fine with me.

I can help you create a YouTube or Bandcamp account. I will walk you through the steps. I can help you upload your music to YouTube or Bandcamp. I will show you how to create an audio-only video file, using free audio-to-video conversion software.

Production. I can produce your song from scratch. That means composition, arrangement and sound design. This is a long process. My digital cover of Holding Back The Years by Simply Red is a good example of my professional mixing capabilities. $250.00 per song. Flat-rate.
