Gallery
Below are a few selected galleries listed by style of photography. Keep in mind that I didn't get my good camera until 2022, so you you won't see great shots until then—I mean, maybe some good ones, but taken with phone cameras until that point. Most of the photos have the date in their filenames.

My History with Photography
I started seriously with photography in 1994. My grandfather gave me his Pentax 35mm camera, I don't remember much about it other than it was a Pentax SLR. I used 400-speed black-and-white film exclusively, I think it was AFGA. I took a photography course at Academy of Art in San Francisco, it helped—but I was already on my way. I always loved photography. I remember being fascinated as a kid with my father's Canon F-1. That was a great camera. He was a photographer too, a really good one. Anyway, I come from a long line of photographers (hobbyists to be clear), and I am yet another light painter.

The Camera Used
I know there are more modern, mirrorless options available, but I really enjoy making photos with an old single-lens reflex camera. Something about cameras like this make me want to take better photos. Something about the weight, the heft of it, the ergonomics. I don't know.
This is my camera. I bought it slightly used in 2022. It is a Canon 5D Mark I "Classic"—a professional camera body from 2005. It only takes stills at 12MP, but the color science is unmatched even today. I bought this camera from an eBay seller in Japan for $250. This particular camera had only 4,000 shutter actuations when I bought it. The only thing wrong with it was one of the rubberized doors was completely corroded. Gaffer tape does the job just fine.
